oms, dry foam like von schrader, or vapor steam.

care is a must either way as to not disolve the glue holding the felt.

George-
I had a request for it also not long ago, I did not use my vapor steamer , i figured it would rasie kaine with the felt. I did a search and found a dry foam passed the info to the customer decided I would pass.

I have heard of cleaners damaging pool tables while trying to clean.

Have you checked with a pool table manufacturer?

I'm thinking low moisture foam as well?

Pool table felt is not supposed to glued down. Rather it is stretched and stapled around the perimeter. Now it depends on if the bed of the table is slate or wood. Slate tables have 3 pieces of slate. The joints are leveled with wax. I think encap and small pad would clean up just fine.
Just my 2 cents

I just did a quick Google search to see what was out there for info. on pool table cleaning.

Looks like we might be on the right track with the foam method of cleaning. Came across this site: http://www.ozonebilliards.com/pooltabclean.html?s_kwcid=cleaning%20pool%20table|2270837259&gclid=CKGghbjfiJcCFQhMGgod-3AB-A

Most other references spoke about using a brush to brush the table. The material can be one of several including wool so I can see where we would need to be careful of moisture. Also chaulk dust to deal with which would create a wicking problem.

Saw Microfiber clothes available on many sites for cleaning. That along with a dry foam looks like the best method?
