Classified Ads or Auction Mod?
« on: March 07, 2010, 07:53:58 AM »
There is a Classified Ad and Auction Mod available for this version of software.

Would you like to see a real classified area? Auction?

OR should we just leave it as is?

Price would be FREE.  ;D

Mike you should get a cut of the action at least just to cover maintenance etc...

BTW - I looked up where you are in ME. just to see how close you were to me.
Your up there quite a bit. Had a job in Eliot ME the other day, but that's just over
the border from NH.  I stop at Dysarts on the way to CA every summer on vacation, great desserts !

Yeah, I'm about halfway up the state along the coast. Eliot is about 3.5 hours or so away from me?

I always stop at Dysarts when I go to Bangor.  ;D  Its about an hour from me.

What got me thinking about the Classifieds again was an email I got from our buddy Tre over at Truckmount Forums. He's going to start a classified section. Seems like I should have one then!  ;D  After looking around the internet there really isn't a decent classified for cleaners?

A cut of the action would be nice. That mod costs $50 if I remember right? :P

Anyone else?

I think you should, it could become a popular place to sell used stuff.
I've got a few things I've been wanting to get rid of.

I'm thinking about doing that for 2 reasons:

1. The mod cost money.  :P
2. Will help keep the spammers out.  ;D

Wouldn't be a big fee. $5 or something like that until the item sells?

I'll make the Classified visible to anyone but only payers will be able to post an ad there. Spammers don't like to pay money so it should effectively weed most out.

Will install Classified after I do some backround programming fixes and install a new Theme for the site. I've been trying one out for a while that I like. Needs some changes though so I'm making a list. It will include just a few changes to the actual forum layout. Most of it is color related. It will end up with some red, white and blue in it.  :)

$5 bucks is nothing for all that you've done for us.  Anyone can swing that.  More than worth it.
