Avatars
« on: August 18, 2011, 11:02:17 AM »
Is anyone having trouble seeing avatars?

A few members have reported this but I can't seem to find any issues.

All the settings seem correct. Its possible that something got reset during the upgrade?

I don't get this at all.

What browsers are you using and what version? Its the only variable I can think of at the moment. Why else can some see them and others not?

I'm using FF6 as well. Tried IE and it worked as well.

Thanks - That helps narrow it down a bit. I'm going to try uninstalling one mod and look at some files to see if there is any change in code somewhere.

Pretty sure I found it!

There is a setting in your Profile........Look and Layout. Fourth and fifth settings "don't show users avatars" and "don't show users signatures". I checked the setting on the accounts of those that posted they couldn't see Avatars. All had one or both of those boxes checked. I unchecked those and clicked OK. You should be able to see things now?

Nothing wrong with the software. Not sure if you checked the boxes or it was done by the software when it was upgraded?

Anyone else with issues should check their Profile.

Thanks for confirming that Micky.  ;D

Finally figured it out when I was reading code on line 1803 or something of a file that calls up Avatars. Something about User preference got me to look in Profiles which is where I found the settings.  :41:

Is there a way to make it so Phil can only post if he uses a "braille" keyboard?
