PP Heatset Carpet
« on: September 12, 2011, 06:19:51 AM »
I got a rug in shop to clean, It has -  !00 o/o PP Heat Set Carpet  on the label.    Anyone know what exactally this is?   Its a multi colored with designs .   There is no other info on label that is attached to the backing of it.
I will be checking it for color bleeding before I attempt any cleaning.   First one I've encontered with this type of labeling.   Might try to get a tuft out of it to do a burn test to identify the fiber type.

The use of the term "Heat Set" on the label is rather like labelling bottled water as "Hydrated Water"

All pile yarns used in carpet production are heat set otherwise cut piles would all suffer tip-burst and most loop piles would knuckle.
