oriental rug storage
« on: August 21, 2011, 06:17:04 AM »
have a custy that wants to store an oriental rug.  I have been wrapping rugs for delivery in a 6 mil. plastic tube type bag.  My customer said that it should be wrapped in a paper roll  with moth balls?
Anyone here know the correct way to store these rugs?   She is going to put them in a barn that is unheated, and not  completley bug and mouse proof.   :017:

You would have to do something with them if she is going to store them in a barn.

Would make a nice home for a critter or some bugs.

I'm not sure how you could store it to make sure a rat doesn't chew through it and make a nest. a barn just doesn't seem like a god place for a rug.

Just cleaned for someone that had to have whole house treated for carpet beetles. Always something no matter what you do.
