New Product
« on: March 07, 2009, 10:21:47 AM »
This morning I had a request to build a Rug Roller.  I had all the material I needed.  So here it is.  Tell me what it needs to be a useful tool that you would buy.  The roller and the lower bracker is solid stainless steel.  The upper handle will be powder coated forrest green or red.

Clark - Thanks for posting this here.

I haven't done water damage in a while but that looks like a great tool?

You could even market it to carpet installers.

Does the handle fold at all? That might help with storage and would take up less space on a van. Would also keep it from rolling around when you don't want it to.

The person that needed it works in a pit.  He washes the rug and use the roller squeegee to remove a bulk of the water and soap.  The roller stays in the pit.  Thats the main reason for SS.  But making it more useful on a truck is very good.  I could put a kick stand on it or make a hanger for it.  I was thinking I would get help here.  Thank you.

Put a beer holder on it, a "Here's your sign" Bumper sticker and give away free "You Might Be  Red Neck If...." T-Shirts. Oh...and have the tune Sweet Home Alabama Playin' on your website and I'll take two.

How much these puppies gonna run fer?

I'd (honest) like to see you build a better rug duster.

The rollers are for soaked carpets in the pit not water damage.

Clark,

What is the weight of the roller itself and the weight of everything else?
Does the handle swivel both directions(forward and back) depending on how you put your body weight on it to push it?
Will the roller come in different sizes?

Thanks,

Bill

The weight is 35 pounds.  It needs the weight to be affective.  The list price at distributes will be $460.  For now, to you guys I can help with the price big time.  A 2 1/2" bar of SS cost $865 and the plate is $1287.  Building these things aint cheap.  I'll see about Sweet Home Alabama.  The Boys live here you know.

Phil you might want to drive down and see some real rug washing equipment.  I will post some pictures Sunday if I come in to work. Towers, Wringers and a new air duster with dust control.  What is wrong with the Rug Duster I build now?

I'd love to drive UP now (I live in Fl)

I had no idea you built anything regarding rugs.

Accept, please, my apology and see my ignorance.

I'll bring some ribs, Bar-B-Q sauce and my wallet.

(which rug duster do you build?)

You are right the 30" duster is a Bear.  But it is an IN PLANT machine.  What if we had a 15" to go on your truck?

I got skipped.

Clark, do you build the Badger?

I ask because this year I am getting tino rug cleaning and will be wanting all of the tools.

I have heard good things about your other machines so, if you build a duster, I want to know.

The Rug Badger is built at Clark's plant.  ;)

If you look at the machine you may recognize some of the parts.

Phil,
Not only dose he build it , he invented the thing too. I used to be a welder/fabricator, and when I got the defender I was impressed with the design and the way it was built. Simple yet complex, and very strong.  I can spot quality metal work and design a mile away. Clark has talent.

Micky,  that cracked me up! lol

any chance you can give a brutha the hook up on a duster?

Not looking for some 30" monster but something smaller, efficient and a tad more affordable.

We can keep it all right here in the family. :)

Clark builds and engineers most of Dusty's rug equipment, go to Dusty's rug badger and that will give you an idea.  Clark is Dusty's US builder.

All the red gave it away.

This is the basic drawing.  I will cut the parts after I finish up two big projects next week.

Since we are doing some wishes, how about a lightweight rollup dusting grid to carry on the van at the same time.
Any idea of the selling price on this Mini-Me?

I'll help with the price until I turn it over to distributes.  The grids are easy.  We need to make a better system.  It needs to be aluminum or plastic to be more mobil.  The units now weight 100 pounds.
