Sprayers
« on: January 10, 2012, 12:58:27 PM »
Anyone have any luck with these sprayers? http://www.smart-cleaning-solutions.com/chemicalresistant I am already in need of a new one. I bought a 1 gallon sprayer from home depot that was supposed to be chemical resistant or at least approved for use with bleach and after about 6 or 7 uses the valve is stuck in the open position. If I take the wand apart is there any way to fix this one?

I had one of those poly B&G sprayers and it developed a few pin hole leaks in the bottom. The SS ones are better. But then with the price you will pay for the Stainless steel version you might as well pay double that and get what I just got (3 gallon Pepsi setup) and call it a day.

I have a plastic B&G 2 gallon sprayer I bought from Jon Don about 4 years ago. I used it exclusively for about a year now I primarily use a electric Multi Sprayer and have the B&G for smaller jobs or back up. The B&G is probably the best pump up sprayer I have owned plus you can buy rebuild parts from Jon Don. Remember always rinse out with HOT water and run HOT water throught thehose and sprayer it will give you much longer life. Also I smear green water proof grease about every 6 months or as needed inside the handle housing where the rod and plunger rides it keeps it from squeeking and gives easier pump ups.

The best pump up is a solo, home depot for around $30.

Best battery sprayer (for cheapo) is the hudson never pump. Northern tool for around $70 with a 2 year warranty. Just replace the wand with a $20 brass wand from Cobb, comes with a nice 05 jet for a perfect spray pattern

Best (not cheap battery) sprayer is a mytee 3 gallon or penguin.

Best never worry bullet proof sprayer is a Pepsi keg.
Any questions?

Joel is still using his $52 Harbor Freight electric sprayer without any issues. Might want to try one of those.

Was able to clean out the valve on my old sprayer so I will use that for another week or 2 but I need to get something bigger soon.

How many of you use a 3 gallon sprayer as opposed to a 2 gallon? Is there any specific reason why you use one or the other?

I have had to put new o rings on the kegs, and pressure relief valves, and poppets for inside the posts.

I just reconditioned 6 kegs for just under $100, it's the first time in 10 years I did "major" work to them.

No more going online for parts and waiting for them to ship either, now that home brewing has become more poplar there is most likely a specialty shop right around the corner that will sell you parts.
