« on: October 24, 2011, 04:35:04 PM »
Been slow around here lately.

Reminds me of the early days when I used to post to myself to see if things still worked.

Figures........I complain to get to a newer, faster server then no one uses the site.   :ecomcity:

Kinda busy.

Been spending most of my time with this project. Turning it into a cafe racer.

What's a cafe racer?  Another cool project Jon.  :great:

I feel like I haven't had much to say lately so not a lot of posts... Am not enjoying the weather getting colder by the day/week lately.  Pretty soon I won't be able to leave pumps or liquids on the van overnight.

Yes, very busy.  Not all w/ CC, but very busy the last 3 weeks/month or so.  Things are looking up.  They've looked up before, but fizzled some.  I'm not gettin to excited yet, ya never know what challenges lie ahead, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

The red bike is the same exact bike as mine (the blue one) in the pic. The red one is a Cafe style bike. Goes back to the 60's & 70's when people shaved weight and made thier bikes real simple in function and style.

I'm slammed Snow Birds are coming. I finally landed nancy lopez country club in the villages for janitorial 5 nights a week. I had to clean it and train up 2 people so we were working 14 hour days with carpet cleaning. I got that going and my new techs became unreliable and had the nerve to demand more money :banghead: so I responded with the curb. I have been doing all the cleaning 2 trucks would do more 14 hour days. I am now training another tech and hopefully things will return to normal by thursday. Thank god because if this was going on halloween my 4 kids would never forgive me.  I will not be sitting idle for long though I gotta get that duct cleaning system going and start the allergy treatment business as well.

Been busy chasing down a realtor to get paid :banghead: Doing a lot more lurking than posting.

Wow Jon I didn't know you restored bikes too. I have a 1983 Honda Shadow that I haven't ridden in 10 years. it only has 13k miles on it. I drained it of oil but I probably should have emptied the gas tank too. The last time I tried to start it the accelerator cable was stuck.

Yeah, draining the gas is DEFINITLY  more important than the oil. You will have to rebuild the carbs.

Just forwarded 100+ hours in payroll from the last two weeks, plus my time in the biz. Pretty unusual for me this time of year, though I have a couple more janitorial accounts than this time last year. Next week looks slow, then its on to my largest ccing account done twice yearly. They are also considering adding a large amount of upholstery. If that happens, I have a team of 4 for a couple days then reduce that to a team of 3 for a couple days. Follow that with several grand at a church and it could be a very nice November. So, busy - yes. At the same time, this kind of busy generates relatively large overhead through payroll. The bottom usually drops out in late November and early December and stays there for several months.

I don't know how many miles I spent towering over the desert mountains, and the only form of life I ever saw was rabbits, lizards, flying noise beetles, and birds! Not one snake or scorpion  :13: since back I cant count the amount of deer!

I have been steady the past few months. And took down my website because I got sick of driving 70 mile round trip for pennies. I took a scary plunge and no longer do any specials like whole house upto 1000 sf. Got so sick of shiesters. This one ****** bag actually expected me to clean his $600K  houses 500 sf of carpet AND HIS $300K r.v. I told him unpolitely to get bent.
Since I have been NOT taking it up the ****. I actually daisy chained **** loads more clientele.
I have not had one job under $230 except one 300 sf apt.
I actually attracted rich people with rich friends and lots of them.

It was officially in the newspaper a few weeks back.
Grants pass unemployed is actually 37%
Medford is much lower but high for national averages. At 32%.

And the average rent on a two bedroom home is $1500 a month.
So as long as my bills are paid.. I'm doing great considering.

been offshore allot, kind of getting tired and looking forward to the scallop days at sea being all used up.   2 more trips and I'm done till march.     Been doing more fishing than cleaning, been a big year for the scallop fleet, record trips and record prices.   Boat I'm on just got the biggest price New Bedford fish Auction ever sold scallops for, $12.15 to the boat.  That ought to make some supermarkets hit 15+ dollars a lb.

Speaking of which, I think I have a few lbs. with the name Mike M. on them. U interested Mike?   I could try to meet if you was down this way.   THIER WICKED GOOD!
   I'll check back in.

      Buddy

Bud - I appreciate the offer but we don't eat much seafood here.

Glad you've been making some bucks fishing.  :great:
