Ink stain
« on: December 28, 2011, 09:00:10 PM »
Anyone have any tricks they would be willing to share for removing ink stains? I have a friend who would like me to try and remove an ink stain from their carpet. They have tried hair spray as a home remedy and that worked some but did not get it all the way out. All the products I own right now are vac-away products and I think I have all the products that are mentioned in the Vacaway spot guide but I was just wondering if anyone had any other tips for removing an ink spot.

P.I.G. from vacaway works just remember apply to a towel sparingly do not pour on stain itself. BLOT do not rub.  Work from the outside in to prevent mushrooming. I have also used q-tips to remove ink it helps control the mushrooming as well. Another thing I have used is peroxide some inks it works better on than others.

I agree with the above.

Follow the Vacaway recommended procedures and you will get as good a result as any method.

This is my trick. It works good.

Take a shop vac (preferrably with a cone tip attatchment on the end and drip P.I.G. on the ink spot directly in front of the tip of the cone. This allows the ink to bleed off and instantly go into the vac.
