CTI's new pads
« on: October 04, 2011, 08:48:31 PM »
So far after going only five feet. The pad will not stick to hook and loop drivers. The pad shed so much damn fiber onto and INTO my velcro that I have spent half the night digging it out. I was hopeful about these pads because they down right look cool and are thick but not to thick. I am washing the five I bought right now to try to see if it will get rid of alot of the lint.

How did they test these on an OP machine? Must have had a different driver on the ones they used. Leave it to these large companies to "try" to get into the OPE market without doing any real hands on testing.

So far...these pads get a big thumbs down. I will try to run them this next week and hopefully report back with better news.

I think they are perfect for rotarys. Who makes the Tri fabs? Orbitek? If so, sent me some Brawney paper towels and well call it even.

Thanks Jon, pretty sure I won't be ordering any of those.  Does look like a good pad for a 175 though.

After 2 washes, I used the pads some more today. First one stayed on my machine no problem. By the time the third pad came around, my Orbot was having a hard time keeping it on.
I will tell you this though. The way that they describe how they work really happens that way. You can run one side and the moisture and dirt does wick up. They get real heavy. I was impressed. I would the heck out of them if they would stay on the machine.

I will have to buy one from you.  I bet they will stay under my pad driver on my cx20.  Its the cut down bristles kind.

ChemBright, watch the APE video, the Orbot is only spinning a couple of rpm with that heavy pad, too much weight for that OP to drive, makes it hard to move plus is much harder on the carpet.

The problem with these pads is the side that goes against the velcro driver SHEDS like crazy! Washing it 20 times doesn't help. These pads hold alot of moisture and are really hard to spin after a while.

John, I am sure your Trinity on the third speed with these pads would spin them like they were paper towels. Right?

Oh yeah, they spin at about 100rpm, BUT the linting is TERRIBLE>

Yes, those are them. Don't order anything from "proschoicesupply". Thier website sucks and you can get double charged when clicking the "back" button. Other problems exist as well.
