vac cleaners again
« on: February 27, 2011, 11:24:28 AM »
Need a new vac cleaner ..... the Dyson has kicked the bucket for the last time.
I am looking at a Proteam (think 96 cfm's) vac - does this one ever get clogged?
I looked at a Hoover Conquest (136 cfm's)with no attachments.  It seemed ok, but I need something that will clean baseboards.
Grant - I looked at Royal (150 cfm's) and Kirby (67 lift??? no idea what lift is), but I wasn't sure which would clean better and last for awhile.  I know you have one of these, I think, and wanted to know what you thought about either of these.
The local place here has a used Kirby, and has a new Royal and a new Proteam.  The prices  had only a $150.00 difference between the 3 of them.

We used to use both Proteam 1500 (15xp) and Conquest.

Proteam for smaller or residential and Conquest for larger/commercial. Both rugged vacs.

Never had clogging problems myself?

Shark liftaway period better than a dyson lifts twice as much dirt $139.00 at target (on sale 129.00 now). I hate the proteam clogged and smelled the liftaway has washable filters, hoses detach and are washable. It's cheap enough to replace and I pull out so much more crap in these dyson owners homes they go buy this vacuum.  The dyson has a bearing problem also I went through 3 of them all started squealing and I bought them from different stores different models it's an engineering fault in them.  I tried the hoover's smelled and clogged, electrolux smelled and clogged.  I do not post vacuum either.

Where did you find the cfm's of the royal, I've been trying to find that for a couple of years?

Depends on features you need. Royal and kirby don't have onboard tools but more suction.  I have been using the program lately to edge back and post back, and my royal to prevac the rest of the floor.

If I was looking for a bagless I think I would get the sanitary with washable brow.

Massage cup?

Might not get a lot done.

Just throwing it out there.

I started using my Dyson 17, had been using the DC07 for years but the DC17 has a  separate motor driven brush and pulls out much more soil and junk.

We had a post about Kirby recently. Machine has merit.

Youtube has videos demonstrating all the goodies. Probably on the Kirby site as well?
