need help on hooking up pressure washer
« on: August 14, 2011, 04:29:36 PM »
I want to hook up my pressure washer to my tile wand use the recoil for suction. What connection do I need and where do I get it? I think I need a m22 to 1/4". I also need a valve adjustment for pressure. I think micky did this before.

What size pressure washer?

M22 is a screw on usually found on smaller units. If that is what you have you will need that, probably a 3/8X1/4 npt nipple and a 1/4" disconnect to match up with your recoil line or spinner (male or female X female).

This is something you will need to make yourself.

If you have a small pressure washer then you may not need pressure adjustment. Most larger units have an unloader on them that you can use to adjust.

An example of fittings might go like this?

I've done it myself and it worked great.

Bought a low buck electric pressure washer some years ago for something else and pressed it into service to get me through a few jobs. At the time we were using truckmounts but we had some secure lock in jobs where we couldn't have open doors, windows or anything. Bought the threaded fitting for the pressure washer there at the store and had the rest of the fittings on the truck to make the adapter. Used our regular TM pressure hoses and all was good.

Used Kleenrite flood pumper for the vacuum/pump out end of things.

sorry chris, didnt see this thread   :-[  yeah, mike is 100% on the money with what he showed in the pics. after tinkering with it a lil while yull be like, "darn, that what easy to do"!
just be sure yer pressure line can handle the pressure as well as which ever tool yull be using.

i'm currently working on building my own high pressure spinner tool with vac port. i experimented with one of the cheapo karcher surface tools, and blew it into a million pieces with my 13 horse washer   ;D

the small electric washers are ok, the one i use right now is rated at 1400psi but by the time the water exits the pressure line and tool, its maybe 1000, maybe a lil less which is perfect for T&G cleaning.

fyi.....rather then installing a regulator, try using a high pressure ball valve and reduce the flow/pressure that way. you can install the valve right on the tile tool. works pretty good for me!

almost forgot.............most everything ya need for the conversion is available at lowes/home depot type joints, or go to>>
