cool, I guess that's the difference between your cops having common since while interpreting the law and WA cops trying to squeeze every last dime in fines from it's people.
King County Washington charges for the cops to come out on a false alarm, they charge to see the public defender, they charge for a cancelled court date, they charge for an form submitted to the court filled out incorrectly, they charge for room and board in the jail and get this --- they charge for the probation officer. If this isn't a demonstration of the economy getting so bad it is doing a shake down on its citizens you tell me what is. Washington may have the Redmond geeks but is seen for the bigger picture and its components, Washington is in a depression along with the rest of the country.
The private sector job growth being experienced is nearly negated the public sector job loss. The pay for these jobs is close to minimum wage and the benefits including insurance, medical, vacation days and sick days are cars stranded on the side of the economic highway. That is not progress, that is third world nation status. Capitalism in this country is controlled by the big players who are controlled by greed over need.
On a lighter note for me, I could care less what anyone pays at the pump. I own stock in Exxon Mobil so all I can say to those not holding stock in oil companies is Sucks to be You. I like getting dividends and I don't drive that much here in Lane County Oregon. Everything is close by including middle and upper class households. And I don't drive a far distance to get to a weekend fun spot. I live in it.
It is Main Street that matters in saying an economy is better or worse. Wall Street is all about the upper 1% who don't make up for the buying power of the displaced employable men and women who are now either unemployed being counted or discounted in the numbers or they are underemployed as they do jobs below their skills for pay no one can live on. Remember how business was prior to 2007? Comparatively speaking, pretty well sucks now from where I stand. California is in better shape because they live in a make believe world with a virtual income. I can say that because I enjoyed that fantasy land for most of my adult life.
