Professional Website building software?
« on: September 15, 2010, 01:34:23 PM »
Anyone know of good software to build professional websites? I am not looking for any of this free template stuff. I want professional grade software programs. I am thinking of Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 ? Anything else you might know of?

Reason being is I think it is time to open a second business on the side for my wife. She is very artistic and really good at designing marketing material.

Thanks for any suggestions.

If she is serious about dong web design then something like Dreamweaver may be what she's looking for.

Looked into that about a year or so ago but my web design plans got put on hold. Not sure what I would go with today?

Professional grade design software isn't cheap. I remember $400-$800 range?

Yep! Through Adobe it's $1799 but I have found it for under $800.

she seems to be very talented.  Think that would be a good investment.  She could design your postcards and other materials.

I can see her being very successful on her own.

Thanks BigO. She is going to do the new website and take the new logo and get it all cleaned up and vectorized. This type of artistic design has always been right up her alley. On top of it she has always been into sales and marketing so I think she and I will be a good team.
I will post more when we get the business up and going. She will be doing logos and website for reasonable prices......until she turns pro, then it's gonna cost ya and arm and a leg.

She will be looking to get her portfolio built up so if anyone needs something done I know she will probably do a few things for real cheap just to get her feet wet.

If she enrolls in a local college taking web design classes she might get a student version (if they are available) at a super big discount.
