i ended up getting the Samsung vibrant
blackberry has to pull a rabbit out of a hat that does my tax for tree to pull me back

hands down no comparison for how I use a phone

setting up push email took a few extra steps and is a tad bit slower, but the thing is i can pull up the actual webpage for email like i do on my pc instantly. With full flash content

absolutely love it

The samsung vibrator was like going back in time to an early 2000 phone. a whole lot of nothing. I am a little biased because I did alot of research. ordered enogh phones to start my own cell biz. lol
I chose my HTC EVO for soooooooo many reasons.
during a call I can add customer info into contacts including address, phone and email.
I can get emails from yahoo, google, hotmail, nutechcarpetcare, carpetcleaning-ethics, everything-hair, myspace etc. All in one single widget. I can do video conferancing either with my sweety or a custy. It has an 8 megapixel camera and 720p HD videocam. I can reveiw HD videos on my TV. I can visit this site, tmf, or any other forum site I am on.  I can buy stuff off of ebay with a touch. I can also find craigslist stuff in any area I want. I can play pandora radio wile I am driving just as if I had an mp3 player.

If I had to build a phone from scratch I would not have come up with this a good of one.

Since I went through Sprint/business I get unlimited everything text, sms, media mail, media text, unlimited calls, roaming, data, tv, for just $98 a month.  or pay another business plan and pay 89 for just 3000 minutes or less with roaming charges. $20 for internet, $20 for data, $15 for texting, and so on...

I love my phone and my service plan  :13:

Htc's are pretty cool phones no doubt!

unfortunately they are not avaliable on my carrier, the vibrant ( I9000 in canada) is the only android available.  My next phone will probably be an htc or moto of some sort

but being honest ive done a ton of research as well, and across the board our phones are rated very similar...from everyone:)
all the features you listed ive been doing since i got my phone (running 2.2) on a call im doing the same stuff:)
i also have beautufilwidgets so my UI looks identical to yours

ill definatly give you an edge on your camera, 8mpg is nice! But the galaxy has the nicer screen.

my biggest beef with the samsung is the plasticy feeling, so ive had a casemate on it since i bought it as as must. Amazing case

Regardless of brands android has some amazing phones coming down the pipeline shortly and i would suggest that anyone looking for one to wait till the new dual core phone are out, very promising

Blackberry stinks as far as apps go.  I phone seems a little more "fun"  But I love my BB Torch still.   I get that nice blinking light to let me know I have new email & that is important since many clients email me & the "quote tab" on our website goes to my email.  Also the qwerty keyboard ( actual buttons ) is nice.  Hate the touch screen keyboard, but if I wanted all touch the Torch can be that as well.  The new OS is cool for me.  Jury still out on ATT.  We will see what buying T-Mobile does for them

the bb calendar is what nothing else compares to, button on one side of phone puts it on speaker phone, button on the other opens my schedule, and then it flawlessly syncs with outlook.
