biznetglobal Seo and addwords
« on: April 22, 2010, 01:43:33 PM »
wow, just called and received a quote,

for my Tiny province of Saskatchewan they wanted:

SEO=set up fee $2000 and monthly maintenance fee of $1000.00

addwords = $1000/mth

that blew my mind!!!

does that seem right or way out of control ?

Biznetglobal.com   based out of Toronto.

for those prices i could run a full page phone book add

Those SEO rates and adwords look ridiculous.  Aren't you a marketing/web expert Cleantech? You can do it yourself for a fraction of that.

Seo companies will charge by the time they need to do the work.  It can range from $25 to a few grand a month.  All really depends on too many variables.

Try Merchantcircle.com . They help you introduce yourself to other business owners near you kind of a facebook for busiinesses.  They offer numerous advertising methods that are very inexpensive google yahoo and bing love it.  I am number 1 organically and my merchant circle page is number 2!!! They have a free site tracker so you can see how many people are viewing your page every month.  You get a free page and can list yourself in 2 cities after that it is very inexpensive for other cities.

I go to the sites, especially the carpet cleaning websites created by the SEO companies you see polluting our boards, and I steal everything I can get away with using.  Meta tags, how the wording is done on the site, absolute vs relative src and then I do of course include my website in my signature line and post often.

Why pay the creeps when you can use them as reference material.

The guy who designed and launched my most recent Web site did the SEO for me as part of the deal. All said and done about 1 grand. Perhaps you can find someone like this in your area. If not, let me know and I'll hook you up with they guy I work with.

My natural ranking, when searched for our area, on Google are consistently on first page if not in first three. I find adwords to be kind of goofy to work with. Honestly haven't put a lot of time into it. When I ask customers if they found me through a natural search result or our paid advertising, they can't tell me. When I start asking very specific questions to figure it out, they get impatient. So, I'm paying for click through rate, (actually rather low) but can't determine conversion value on adwords.

I read somewhere that natural search results are much more trusted, and therefore acted upon, then purchased online advertising. At the same time at least Google seems to be making an effort to make adwords campaigns look a lot like natural search results.
