Dirt Assassin Green
« on: March 09, 2010, 09:42:07 PM »
Just got some DA-G in.  I'll let you guys know what I think after I use it for a while.

I'm thinking it might be great for pad-capping or steam cleaning, but we'll see.

I have been using the regular Dirt Assassin and have not been all that impressed. I am back to Encap Green again.
Be curious to hear your thoughts on it Grant

Oh great. I hope I like it because I got a case.   :P

If I don't like it for padding I guess I'll just use it for HWE and it will probably last me a year for that.

When it was released I called Vacaway. I wanted to know how they compared it to EG. They (not sure whom) told me that it DAG was developed mainly for HWE users and that it would work with OP. They also said if I was happy with EG I should probably stick with EG. If I hold this as true, then how it is being promoted needs to be refined. I don't think this message is clear during roll out.

I also do not like the smell of Dirt Assassin. Did you realize the word "ass" is in Assassin twice? That CANT be good.  ;D

"They" are only a 2 person team.  So it would be either Steve or his Daughter.  I met both of them in Nashville.

Ordered a bottle of EG but I have plenty of other Encap's right now in stock, gonna finish those before I buy more presprays.  Ordered EG to do my own spotters.

Used it today to pad clean a house. It was an older dark blue nylon carpet.  Worked great.  Stains and spots just melted away.  Seemed to work comparable to encap green, but without the white foam trail that gives the immediate illusion of clean.  But once the foam trail goes away this would look comparable to that from what I could tell.

Pads were coming off darn near black even though carpet didn't look too awful, maybe the low foam allows the pads to remove more soil? but less encapping going on? Hard to tell but the stuff obviously works.  Time will tell if I like it as much as encap green, I'm a long way from drawing that conclusion, but I'm pretty sure already I won't regret buying it.

As far as smell I had my wife to a blind smell test of Dirt Ass. Green vs. encap Green. She said they both smell pretty good, but the encap green smell a little bit better.  She said she thinks it smells like there's a touch of ammonia in there.  To me the smell of Dirt Ass. Green is pretty mild, I don't think any customers will be complaining about the smell of this stuff.

I used it at just 3 oz/gal.

I would like to  try some  Dirt Ass  green.  If it cleans Dirty Ass carpets, then Dirt Ass green would be worth it's High Ass price.

I'm trying the DAG right now, so far so good. I was told the DAG had a little more punch than EG  but also less polymer and less foam and is a better choice for hwe than EG.

I'm using the DAG for padding but unless it works well at 2oz per gal  I'll be using my less expensive colloidal cleaner with the Steamin Demon.

I've been using DAG on every job now since I started this thread.  Seems to work just as well as encap green.  I tried using it on a commercial job and really missed the white foam trail.  I had been using it at 2-3 oz/gal and it was just doing ok on that job (pretty trashed commercial carpet that hadn't been cleaned for 3 years), so I boosted it up to 5 oz/gal on that job and worked better.  I have since been using it at 4 oz/gal on my resi jobs and it works quite well at that dilution thus far.  I think it might work pretty well for hwe at 2 oz/gal though.

Thanks for the report Grant, I'll be ordering some next week to try. It would be nice to have one product that works well for both padding and HWE.
