Bonnet Pro Review
« on: March 17, 2010, 08:27:04 PM »
I ordered a gallon of Bonnet Pro Ultra Surround and have used it on a handful of jobs so far.

I've received compliments on the smell in all of the homes I've used it in and I've been impressed with the cleaning.  I really like the way it smells and it seems to clean as well as Encap Green, which I really like for it's cleaning ability.  I've cleaned lightly soiled to moderately soiled and have used it at 4oz per gal.  I also pre-spray spots with spot n boost and so far so good.

Oh, it has the same health rating as EG.  I'll be using this as my primary cleaner.

Hey Mo,

go to www.bonnetpro.com They have a deal on 1 gallon for all new customers.  It's the same price as EG and they offer free delivery.

I thought Surround Green worked quite well also.  I just don't really buy the film-former type of encap philosophy.  Didn't have built in deodorizer like encap green and doesn't expand and shatter either.  That's why I switched back.

I'll have to look at the two encap philosphys.  I didn't realize it didn't have deodorizer in it either.  I really like the way it smells and have always received compliments on that when using it.  I think it's mostly a smell thing with me, something between the ears??

I'll still use the Encap Green for eco-friendly clients, don't think they'd like the flowery smell of BP.

It looks like the Ultra Surround does have deodorizers in it, as well as some stain resistance and anti-resoiling properties.  Could add that to marketing?? I was talking about the Surround Green when I mentioned the Deo.  The main reason I decided to stick with encap green was the encap philosophy.  Just not sure I buy that a product that dries in a dish like hardened glue is really going to vacuum out of a carpet.  Maybe the small amount on the tips of the carpet, but not all of the product that gets to the bottom of the carpet/backing, etc.   I could be wrong, someday somebody will do some testing and we'll learn more.   Currently, it seems like the manu's of the film former encaps always just dodge the question and say that the carpet needs to be thoroughly rinsed annually and their products are meant for interim cleaning.

A few years ago me and a friend did some testing with some encap products, some of the products tested were Vac away, Releasit, Harvard's Bone Dry, Cobb's Encapsulate.

We tested for cleanability and resoil rate, the Bone Dry and Cobb's Encap which are considered film formers, cleaned and stayed  clean as long as  or better than all other products tested.
