Bio-Encap out today
« on: February 15, 2011, 05:59:45 PM »
Anyone see the new cleaner released by excellent supply today? Its called bio encap and they are touting it as being dfe approved. I had to look up dfe to see what that was. Its epa approved in some way. Looks really interesting but i wonder how well it stands up against other green cleaners. May have to buy some and give it a go.

You apparently dont ever read Phil's posts.
The main benefit to Bio Encap is that it is LEEDS approved. For the green facilities. none of Steve's products have been certified that I know of.

Talked to Drew at Excellent supply yesterday. Sd that Bio doesnt clean better the releasit DS. It is EPA certified green, but it does not qualify as leeds because only CRI approved crap does.  Butyls apparently are very green according to the CRI.

That whole "green" thing is a scam if you ask me.

A lot of money changes hands so someone can claim "green". The problem is.......by who's definition?

Just use the safest thing (according to MSDS) that works well. A crappy product you need to use 10X more of isn't exactly environmentally friendly.

Chem perox smell is overpowered by intensity but it smells like lemons customers love it.  If you guys hate the smell of your cleaner John Don has Matrix Scents I love the Linen Fresh.  I did one yesterday mixed Encap Green 4 oz, Dirt Assassin 2 oz (she had a dog) and 1 ounce Matrix Linen Fresh man that house smelled like clean laundry when I left.  My customers are raving about it I also spike my protectant with it.  Back to the topic should I care about LEEDS?  We clean at a health rating of 1 if we use encap green and intensity green.

Chris you might be ruining your encap ability by adding the matrix deodorizer to your mix. You should test it before using it anymore.

The only time leeds matter is when a Building manager says are you LEED certified.  I have yet to have any of my commercial customers ask anything other then can you clean it?

Chris looks like Steve has a sale on the Intensity products until the 28th of this month, based on your rave review (thanks), I think I might just have to order a case tomorrow, I was hoping to find someone who had used it.

Chris you might be ruining your encap ability by adding the matrix deodorizer to your mix. You should test it before using it anymore.

So I asked the question of Steve if the above was the case.  This is what I got in response:

Hi Ronnie,

I have not mixed Matrix scents with any of our products, so I can’t give you a definitive answer.

I do know that many scent products are sticky, by nature, and could cause a sticky residue to be left in the carpet.  You can check the matrix product by putting a few drops in the bottom of a saucer or shallow dish and allow 24 or more hours to dry.  Once dry, pour black pepper over the residue... then dumb the pepper off and give it a quick hard blow to remove any that might be left.  After blowing if there is any pepper at all that sticks, then it could cause a residue problem or could screw up the crystallization of encap Green.

Another test you might try... place 10 drops of encap green in a dish and 3 drops of matrix and mix all together with your finger.  Allow mixture to dry.  If the mixture still crystallizes then it is still safe to use matrix even if it is normally a bit sticky when dried alone.  This test will tell you if the encap green has removed the stickiness of the matrix.

Hope this all helps,

Steve

I have Encap Green but do not have a bottle of Matrix scents.  Would anyone who has both like to try the above tests, the second one seems the best, and report back the results?
