Hi Andy, not sure I can add a whole lot here but since I'm probably the only one on this board who's used it thought I'd give you my thoughts.

I like the surround quite a bit.  The "encap 101"  page has some interesting information that I'm sure other manufacturers wouldn't agree with.  Surround isn't designed to shatter as it dries, but rather vac out slowly over time.  Since I use pads I don't worry about it too much, but this might be an interesting discussion for another thread??  I guess this could be called the "film former" debate.

The surround works quite well with padcapping in my limited experience.  I don't have encap punch to do a side-by-side with so I can't speak to that.  I've never tried enc either.  My other product I use for pet carpets is Whamm with 2 ounces of shatter added per gallon. That combo seems to work quite well too, but is very expensive!  I still have half a gallon of hot knife so might try a head to head with that one of these days.  HOS has a new green encap that is less expensive than surround. I did a head to head on one job vs. surround and the performance was comparable.

I got a sample of the regular Surround some time back.

It didn't fair well in side by side testing with 4 other products in my living room.

I was on the Surround web site this week poking around. Looks good! I liked the odor of Surround. Is the Green product the same?

I've not used the original surround, but the manufacturer told me the green works better.  It has a great smell. I guess a light soapy or downy type fragrance. Not overwhelming.

Sounds like the same odor as the original.

Thanks for the info Grant, It seems that it would be worth it to give a try. I looked at the hurby web site and didn't see any cleaning solutions. Is there a different site that sells them or do you have to call them?
