Rotary's and Micro's
« on: May 01, 2011, 07:23:59 AM »
I know the topic has come up about micro's and OP. I was looking into trying some from a company out of NC. At 15.95 a piece they might be worth a shot for my new rotary. Do they absorb better than the tuways I am currently using ?

Tuways are awesome, others are made from korea... But one is expensive and one is cheap. Both will get the job done, Tuway might last longer cuz of the stars and stripes.

I am not sure exactly what you are asking.

Tuways do not absorb much at all but neither will the micros.

Micros do seem to have a certain element about them that allows for a good clean BUT IMO they are not so easy to wash because of the foam rubber pad in the middle.

I did not see enough difference between tuways and micros to honor such a change long term.

and I use a rotary.

There is one exception: micros clean and can be rinsed onsite to continue use. That is a bonus. But not a big one....if I have to wash one or two micros....I have to 'wash' period so why not wash 10 tuways.

This difference may be substantial on a day when a lot of rooms/houses are to be cleaned.

I bought a few from directmopsales.com I've never seen this style anywhere else.  What I like about them is the scrubber strips.  I haven't found that they clean or absorb any better than my loopy/fluffy cotton polys.

I use the same blue micros as Jeff. They hold up real well and even when the foam inside does break down they still run nice under my machine.

Looks like Haggo is out of these Microfiber Pads.

Does Scrubmister carry theses pads?

The foam will break down in the blue Micro fiber pads if you dry them above 140 degrees and especially if you use bleach when washing. It is best to wash your pads ( any kind) while they are still wet from the job. Dont let them dry out and you will find they seem to launder a bit easier and better. The drier will also shorten the service life of the pad, but may be needed on some types to remove lint. Run on low heat for 10 minutes or so and let air dry if time permits.

Thanks Mike. I didn't want to order a case until I know they will stay under the pad driver.

That's the first time I have ever heard of anyone drying thier pads. Curious why you like to dry them?

Jon,

I dry cotton pads and cotton bonnets because they are not in constant use, so would otherwise become musty.
