Ok, here comes the stupid waterclaw question.
« on: February 12, 2012, 09:45:16 AM »
What is it? A waterclaw, I mean. I can promise I have read every post in the applicable sections, most more than once  and I'm still not clear. I think it's either a piece of equipment, like a spotter OR a special tool that is used on a spotter/extractor for putting more water down with special tips, like a "claw"? I know it's mostly used for stains/urine removal and it seems to be very necessary as a cleaner's tool. And where can I get my pudgy little hands on one? Thanks.

Thanks for posting that informative video.

Yes, its the attachment at the end of the vacuum hose. Good tool for urine jobs and certain spotting.

OK. So essentially I can use the Water Claw on most any extraction device, even a shop vac? And because of it's special design it's capable of really, well, "clawing" up the moisture... Genius.  Thanks Cleantech. Videos were excellent. I don't know how it works, specifically, engineering wise, but I've seen enough to know that it works. Awesome.

Yep. I couldn't watch it on my phone when you sent it yesterday, but I watched it last night and thank you. Aside from the way it works, it's simpler to use than I imagined. So you "flood" the spot with water and I'm assuming a chem of choice and quickly get on top of it with the waterclaw, sucking up all of the nasty along with the water. That's amazing!  I can see now why it's such a necessary tool for cleaners.

Most of the chems you will use for pet problems will have a dwell time of 10-20+ minutes.

Once I had it I cant believe I waited as long as I did to purchase it

Interlink has the small WaterClaw for $330 which they promote for use with "flood extraction"... but, they also sell the FlashSpotter for a third of the price at $119, which looks to be the same size only plastic, but see thru! This is promoted for the urine/stain/spot removal. This is what I'm more interested in for more than one reason.

I guess my question is, beside the plastic, is there any reason to believe that it wouldn't work just as well on stains/urine removal?

Does anyone have any experience with these? Or maybe can elaborate? Definitely interested in this on a budget.

If you do a search on "water claw" here you should find some posts and pics about a home made version.

Low cost and works.
