Been A long Time
« on: November 28, 2011, 11:28:57 AM »
It's been a long time since I shopped for pads other than Glads and It looks like glad pads are no longer available. The first thing I noticed is that suppliers have gone to case orders only. It kind of sucks if you want to test pads for durability and cleaning action.

I may have to go back to my roots and and use 100% cotton with gliders. I haven't used a glider since I bought the Orbot.

I will also start use microfiber for cut pile and frieze. I had a customer freak out this weekend because the twist on her cut pile carpet was gone after I cleaned a test area with a Glad. I pre vaced  the  area and hopefully that will help when it dries.

Some seem to like those superzorb pads by hos, I haven't tried them yet.  I just noticed that CCS is sold out of the good glad pads.  The econo glads do last well IF you use at least a small glider under your machine.  In fact some of those have lasted me quite a while now.  Might be time to try a couple other things, but you can get a few of these in a pinch.  It usually takes 2-3 months for CCS to get a new batch in.

Yes I just order a few of the econo pads Grant as well as a microfiber pad from janitors world to test. I should probably get the super zorbs as well.

In talking to Patty today, it didn't sound like there were going to be carrying glads anymore. I hope they can work out the issues they're having their supplier.

I haven't used 100% cotton since I sold my challenger but have you seen the price on their cotton pads? There $3.00 for the 20 inch pads. I wonder if they're are the same pad they used to sell for $11.00 and if they run well on the Orbot. At that price it's definitely worth a shot. I know their Turbo Pad tore up very quickly on the edges.

Mo- The cotton pads fold up under my Orbot. A glider should help. But, I hat running gliders. To much wasted cleaning material lost.

I've been using super zorbs for over a year now and I'm very happy with them. I've had a couple tear along the edge, other than that they are durable. I think they clean better than glads and they hold a ton of dirt.

Yeah Mo I think CCS actually lost money, a lot of it, from their order that are now called econo glads.  Something like half that order were not even saleable, then all the complaints and price reductions on the remainder.  I don't know what I'll do when all these run out.

So where do we buy Super Zorbs? Through HOS? Does it take three years to get them? Will anyone answer the phone?

I order super zorbs through Jim England, who orders them through HOS, at cost. I suspect a person could go right to HOS.

I love the way cotton pads clean. Be nice if they didn't tear the carpet to shreds.  May be a mix of micro fibers and cottons is the answer, Clean with micro, then throw down the cottons if you need to get hard core with a traffic lane.

Mo did I hear you right, someone is selling cottons for $3.00?  Who, when, what and where?

Right here Andy http://www.challengerop.com/product/303. When I was running my challenger they were very durable and yes aggressive but the glider solved that issue, but once the thinned out they wont stay under the machine

Jon you have an assigned rep at Waxie. The last time I placed an order I received the pad driver in less than a week, but everything was more expensive through them.

Thanks Mo,
Great price, less than half of what they used to be.  20 cottons for 60 bucks , flippen great.  Tuways , or micros for sensitive carpet, and to heck with expensive pads that die to fast.    Some one tell me again were to get the good micros?    I'll pick up a few of those and 20 cottons and be done with it for awhile.
