As Phillip said, hose management is not much different with the SD as a Truckmount or portable. A wand is easier when you need to get into tighter areas or under things but there's pro's and con's with both set ups.
I have a SD XL15 and a Truckmount and I'm thinking of retiring my Truckmount and using my SD for all hwe jobs.
I'm also thinking of getting a Little Giant heater to use with the SD and run hoses out the door and hook up to the water outside if the heat would not be too much for the pump out.  ( Would the LG heater work with the SD Mike?)

Micky, I would love to hear more about your high flow porty conversions.

Grant, if I end up coming over for a visit, I'll get some adaptors to hook a garden hose to my LG heater and we can try it out. Also I would bring my golf clubs and we can hit the course with the Viking.  I'll drink your organic lemon aid, and you and T can have beer.
If  the LG would work, then the unit could be run from an out side faucet, to the heater in the van, then a live hose reel in to the house.  Would make set up quick and easy. The only problem I can think of would be the hose not handling the  heat (200 degee) , then I would wonder if the heat would kill the pump out?    we could always turn the heat down to like 150.   Anyways it would be fun to visit and play around with it.

Maybe after your bizzy time is over.

Jeff  I've had people use them without any problems. I have a cleaning procedure I've been using the last couple years that has worked well for me. Heres what I do. I prespray all the carpet with just the hot water on. Then I use a grooming brush on the traffic areas. I treat any spots with a spotting bottle and kick it in with my foot. Then I turn both the hot and cold water on (this increases water flow) and start extracting where I first started prespraying giving me maximum dwell time. A good quality prespray like ultrapac (phosphate based) is critical when doing this. The results are amazing.

Micky, I would love to hear more about your high flow porty conversions.

Mike, the SD hoses is something else I am concerned with when using higher temp. The hose is rated  300psi at 70 degrees which I think should be ok but  higher flow should produce more heat.
I want the heat I'm use to with my truckmount which is why I want to use a propane heater I also want to hook up out side so I won't tie up the customers sink and don't have to use the adapters not that there's anything wrong with that.

I have a 120,000 btu LG heater with my truckmount that I could hook up to the SD to try out but before I goof anything up my concern is how the high flow heat will effect the diaphragm on the solenoid and the impeller on the pump.

Mike do you know what temp the others are using?
Thanks

Jeff   I do not think your going to have any problems. If you do, give us a call there's some options on impellers hoses ect. At this point we'll stick with the old saying "if it aint broke don't fix it"
