I-Helix Vac Hose

   Was looking for some new vac hose and came arcoss this I-Helix hose made by Haviland contoured plastics.  Has anyone tried it or know anything of it?  I wanted to find a more flexable hose than the stuff that came with TM.

2" vac hose that will take TM vacuum is going to be stiffer. I tried a 2" hose that was very flexible once. Sucked it in with the TM. Worked well on a portable. I think it was Smooth-bor?

1.5" is more flexible. That's why people use a section at the end.

Haviland is a good hose. There is also Plastiflex G-vac, Flexhaust Genesis

   Is this the stuff (I-Helix) that collapsed on you?
          I might try Rotovac and at least see if I can get some TMHD 1.5" hose that came with thier power head.   I'll at least use that for a whip line, already have 25' of it but I'm leaving it for the porty for Upholstery's. Tried it on the TM with no problems and definitely more flex to it then the two other types of hoses. Its just to long for a TM whip and I did not want to whack it up in pieces. I'll  check and see if it comes in 2" , if it does I might try a section if they claim it will not collapse.
         Getting ready to leave for offshore, this is getting nuts, 3 days home and I have to go offshore again. Captain is trying to stick me in the Wheel house and run Mate, To much headaches, for a 250 dollar per.  I'll have to threaten him with quitting if he does not find someone else.   I'm not baby sitting full grown men anymore.   I quit being Captain a few years back because I was sick of babysitting full grown men, plus the job just eats your homelife.

No, not I Helix.

There are only a handful of hose manufacturers. Difficult to tell who's hose you are looking at. Each has a slightly different design though. Those few hoses are sold by multitudes of companies under various names.

Now you know why I don't have employees. Be safe out there.

I run a leader hose about 15 feet or so.. Just enough so I am not fighting with it in a small area like bedroom..
I also run 50 foot of 1.50inch if I am using long hose runs over 150 feet from the van. And 100 feet of 1.50 if I am running 250 from the van.

The reason, is to keep up the negative pressures high with long hose runs..as a hose run gets longer the negative voids of emptyness causes significant loss of vacuum pressure.... or deep vacuum..

  I thought Masterblend recommended me to only run the 25' -1.5", rest of it 2"?  I'll have to check again.   
   Kunkle valve is bypassing now, I wonder if I ran more 1.5" if it would bypass more?
   It would be nice to run more 1.5", cheaper, and can get more on the reel.   

Guys on another forum did a 1.5" to a 2'' wand comparison with different TM's, the 1.5" had better suction was the claim.

      GNU, what kind of TM are you runnin'?  Blower size?

Don't run any more 1.5" than you have to.

Far more vacuum running 2" hose on long runs. I would consider 150' a "short" run.
