Auto pump out wanted
« on: July 23, 2011, 10:17:06 AM »
Was looking for an automatic pump out for my TM.  Cleaned nasty LR last week and filled recovery tank on the one room.       I want to be able to clean as it pumps out as it will be easier to go from job to job without worries.        I have a 110 on  TM gen that has another plug available up to 11 amps.  SO I can go 12 volt or 110, either way.
The one masterblend sells for my setup I believe is 1700 bucks.
Got to be a cheaper way.            :017:

Thats alot of money. I just looked on Interlinks site and they are running about the same for an external pump out. I did see that they had in tank pump outs that were a fraction of the price, but I am not familiar with pump outs to know if one is better or more efficient. but for $1700 I would think you could get a huge waste tank made for you. I have a 100 gallon tank in my truck and it is good for my setup and I can do most days with out having to worry about filling it.

What about mounting a 12V motor on a Jabsco impeller pump?

We had a Jabsco impeller pump with clutch on our last two TM's

Hamilton's sells Jabsco and parts.

It would have to have enough suction to work against the blower?  Plus a check vave?    It can be 110 volt. Gen on TM fires the TM burner has an 11 amp additional access.

Powerful enough to use on a 1200cfm machine.

How much HG pull was the 1200 cfm?    Did you use a check valve also?    I take it that it was a 12 v.?
You said it worked against the 1200 cfm?   Lowes has a 110 v.  I was looking into, but TM would have to be running to get the 110 v.    I can go 12 v. off  van or TM battery.  Just thought that 110 would have more pull.

David
I was wondering if I can run this pump with no water and not hurt it?
Thanks
Stefan

I believe it is self priming to something like 6 ft vertical so I think you can, just not for an extended period.

Call Larry Cobb at Dynachem 800-634-2622 in Texas or web site at www.cobbcarpet.com.
They have 12volt pump for $ 600.00 works easy and well, simple and you can hook it up yourself at the drain of the dump tank. Worth the time to check. jz.

Most  pumps with an impellar that does not shut off can burn impellars up and sometimes motors.  You should install a auto switch for off an on.  Rule makes some flapper switches.
I like the switch in my TM recovery tank that shuts unit down when tank is full.    Kind of like a ball on the end of the wire, when floats upside down it kills TM motor.   This would be an easy switch to install for a pump out.

And one that is used by many manufacturers.

Your point on water is correct for impeller pumps. We rigged a 12V solenoid to the fresh to give it fresh water on startup.

Diaphragm pumps are the only ones that can run dry and self prime. You need a large one for a TM. I had one made by Prochem that was a nice unit. Very pricey though. My guess is you could build a similar setup for less.

I had two Powercleans with that pumpout.

Fixed the impeller issue by installing a 12Vsolenoid to feed fresh water to the pump at startup. There was so much vacuum on those machines that is sucked the water out of the pump.

Shurflo isn't big enough for a TM.

That's funny that's exactly what I was going to do before i got my Everest. Tommy fromTMT Recovery is using that shurflo, not sure how he's got them working.

Should it still have a check valve in it ?   Someplace before the pump?

Yes, check valve between tank and pump.

Otherwise you get vacuum going through the pumpout hose.
