Anyone use Grease eater?
« on: January 21, 2011, 09:16:41 AM »
I called magic wand to inquire about their free sample offer.I was mainly interested in trying grease eater.  I had meant to get some free stuff. but The lady was so nice, and helpful,  I ended up buying a 30 LB pail.  (I'm a sucker for a nice sales pitch.)  Any hew, was wondering if anyone here used it, and how did you like it?

Thanks

Have not used that particular product but have tried others in their line a few years ago.

Wasn't that impressed with the performance. I did use Oxyblaster for a while but found it was less expensive to make my own. They advertised cheap prices and now I see they have raised pricing quite a bit.

Customer service used to be good.

Andy;

You are a sucker for a good sales pitch?

Well here's not the best one, sugar coated and all that stuff, but perhaps the right one:

ATTACK it!

Nice pitch Ed,   :great:
I had a mind to get some of your stuff when I first got my recoil. To my shame , I Ended up forgetting all about it.

Mike,
I was interested in the Grease eater due to the Enzyme /Oxy combination it has. The jobs were I chose HWE over padding, are the trashed out smelly carpets. and Or  have urine.   I figured the enzyme / Oxy based pre sprays would be a good fit for those.  Plus it has natural type ingredients and I'm sensitive to harsh chemicals. The grease eater is 2 onces per gallon,(MUCH cheaper than powermax  at 8 oz per gallon)  Plus GE has a safe PH for all synthetic carpets.

I totally just wanted to try out the free sample , but the lady was slick  (in a nice honest way)

OK - Most enzyme products have to be mixed fresh and used within hours. Is this similar?

If I were cleaning nasty rentals I would hit it with some higher PH prespray. Since you are sensitive to that you could just add oxidizer to your prespray?

I know Ed was kidding but his product has merit as well.

I like it its great on nylons and olefin and few other synthetics. If you get a chance get their citra-pure booster. 6 ouces equals to a gallon of citrasolve. I had a super duper nasty. I ordered the sample bottle 6 oz. Got to this aparment/townhome It was white carpet or used to be. and I used nearly half gallon of citrasolve with enzyme and lots of that too. With barely any improvement with the cleanest areas. I said OH YEAH!! I got that sample thingy. So I actually measured it out to 2.5 ounces per two gallon sprayer and 8 ounces of enzyme. It not only outperformed. But that 2 gallon mix lasted for 4 other nasties I had that week. Do the math lol I would have used at least a gallon of citrasolve.

I did'nt try the grease eater yet. haven't had a situation where I needed to try it. I did like the oxyblaster. I cant remeber what I used it on. but it worked stand alone.

I bought a case of that stuff. the price is OUCH!  :banghead:

Used Grease Eater (Green Pack) on Berber olefin and  nylon yesterday ,spiked (1/2 dose)with citrus solv. Results were fantastic . I did mist the olefin with CTI Last Step .
Attack also works well spiked with the Ctrus solv .
But theres always  that one nasty that nothing works and again I'm looking at other products :017:

I don't use powermax at those dilution rates, that is WAY too much . I use 12-14 ounces per 9-1 HF sprayer and get excellent results. That is about 1.4 ounces per gallon NOT 8 ounces per gallon. That would cause horrible resoiling IMO.

The label says 8 oz per gallon?  Good to know it can work well at lower dilutions.  I haven't used the Grease eat yet, but I have a nasty one set for Monday.  Plan to use it there and see what happens.
