Spotter/Booster Comparisons
« on: August 09, 2010, 08:52:54 PM »
Are there any spotter/boosters that are comparable to Spot n Boost or Cyclone, and more affordable.

@ Scott - How does Just Magic compare? The price looks nice @ $27/gallon compared to $43 - SNB.

I've been mixing my snb 50/50 in quart, so I go thru it like no other.

DA Green 3 oz + snb green 4 oz in a quart bottle works great.  Try that first then use the straight stuff.  Save some $$ that way and works on almost everything.

Just Magic is awesome ;D

4oz to a quart cleans just about everything, I even use it as a traffic lane cleaner.  Last week I used it to clean lots of black off of light green carpeted steps.  A combination of spotter, HWE, magic potion and padding eliminated all of the black.  Waste water was disgusting.  I should have taken pics but didn't think it would clean up all that well, damn things looked new when finished.  Go figure.

Buy a bottle to try, you'll be glad you did!  I don't miss SnB at all, never liked smell or price.

I think it was a post by Mickey that gave me a heads up on this.

"This product was designed to remove urine, vomit, colored/red food dye, wine, juices, coffee, tea, pop, oil, grease, make up, water stains, yellowing, Browning" on label

It's the only spotter I use now, I'll be ordering a case soon.

Ordered a gallon of Just Magic, free shipping $27.95!

1 gallon of SNB is $56 bucks shipped to me!

I really hope it does as good or better than SNB, noticed it says it works for red stains too, going to give that a try...if it can remove red stains w/out iron, than I won't need any red vanish anymore.  We'll see.

Bill- I want to hear your take on Just Magic. It has been years since I used it and if I remember right I just didn't see a difference with it. But, if you get good results and others here seem to, I may have to give it another shot.

Got a call from Clean Craft today, the free shipping is only if you buy a case, not for 1 gallon.  :-[

So it was $10 bucks for the shipping, so about $38 total.

Chris,

It does suggest extracting Spotter.  I've been pre- spraying on spots and using wet pads to extract.  Have used my Kwik Steam a few times when I've had it in for stairs/uph.

Bill,

Sorry, I forgot about the shipping.  Your still 5 bucks ahead.
What are you using for your uph pre-spray?

I use the SS uph prespray/rinse.  There's a picture of it in the "went Pro" thread about the uph tool I bought.  Seems to work decent, smells funky though.   :P

Used Just Magic today over spot n boost.  Worked very well just about every stain, the only thing I didn't like was the smell of it.  Other than that I like the fact I can use 4oz/quart bottle, I actually used 6oz and it foamed on the stains, so that tells me I was using too much spotter.

You can add a touch of ultra to that too!

I used it today as a pre-spray for heavy soiled areas and traffic lanes.  Used a ribbed encap pad to scrub, than Ultra 8oz/gal, glads, hwe, than glads.  Carpet cleaned up great, custy was thrilled ;D

6oz was a little much, don't notice any smell at 4oz

Nice,

Now the next step is to find a good red stain remover that is comparable to red vanish w/out the high costs.

I find Red Vanish to be pretty cheap.  I go through about 2 gallons a year. Not a lot of $$ for the hundreds of red stains I remove every year.

I go thru 2 gallons every 2 months.

Always good to look at different options, maybe there's a new product like or better than Red Vanish, never know.  If not, I'll still buy from Steve.  Doesn't hurt to try.
