New Green Encap
« on: February 17, 2008, 04:55:11 PM »
I received this email from VackAway Products. Its a natural encap with deoderizer. Has anyone tried this one? They make some pretty good cleaners and spotters. I can't wait to try it.
Has Excellant Supply come out with theirs yet?

We'll be ordering a case of Steve's stuff this week to try.  All of his products are 1st class. I need to talk to him to see exactly where he sees this chem fitting in...sounds like it will replace Whamm, which we use on 90% of our residentials...

Have been using the new HOS Green Encap Environ...I think that's what Rick will sell as his Green Encap...haven't been impressed with it at all other than the smell...altho my RO filter is down, and I have been using regular water to mix it. Once mixed with RO water, it may come alive.

BTW, You can get a FREE sample of Environ to try yourself by going to HOS's website and clicking on the free offer photo...

I got a gallon of Environ a few months ago. I didn't like the smell at all. Wasn't impressed either. I agree. Steve's products are top notch!

Interesting that others use RO or DI water too. I always wonder if it is really better. But the science says :yes.

The RO water gives the kick that "Green" cleaners sometimes need to work well.

I haven't tried Water Softeners because our water isn't too hard here. But they will make water "wetter" also, increasing the effectiveness of the cleaning agent and allowing you to use less of the RTU, also.

I'm all over this product like a cheap suit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you tell I'm excited.

Mike: I don't think Rick's product is going to be anything you've seen anywhere else, the little information he gave on it a while back sounded like it was going to be a hydrogen peroxide based product.  That always makes me nervous to use it because if you don't do a test first to make sure it doesn't bleach out a carpet, you might be sorry someday!   I think Steve Smith might have beaten Rick to his preferred name though, I always figured Rick's Green Encap would be named "Encap-Green".

Still waiting on my order. They sent it to Ga.
Complete mistake, our name & their name is not even similar. The co. that received the 3 cases was honest enough to call Vacaway back, and tell them that they just got stuff in that they didn't order. If they hadn't called, the girls wouldn't have been able to figure out what happened. So, according to tracking, we should get it Monday.

Will report on how it works, as we have 2 cleanings Tuesday we can use it on. Steve says it cleaned better than Whamm in side by side cleanings most of the time, and the other times it cleaned as well as Whamm. Whamm is 8 oz. per gallon, where this is 4 oz. per gallon, so you get twice as much RTU out of a gallon.

Of course, nothing cleans better than Hot Knife, but most of the time, we don't need that much power.

As for the RO water, it is water that has been filtered through a Reverse Osmosis filter system, removing all the impurities and minerals. Your cleaning chemicals have to overcome the adverse effects of the contaminates in the water you mix them with, just like the chems do in the carpet....

So if you don't have contaminates and minerals in your water, your chems will be more effective, and you will use less of the chem to clean the carpets.

You can get an RO system in 3, 4 & 5 filter systems, for $125 and up. The up depends on the amount of water that flows through the system.

Just like in automobiles, the cheaper ones are slow, the faster you go, the more money you need to spend.

I've got 2 cases here, but I've decided to use up my whamm before opening them up...

Whamm's cleaning power is very UNimpressive, so it better work better than that.

Wow Grant...how are you using the Whamm?

We have used it as our everyday cleaner for over 3 years now.

We've even cleaned the Pizza Huts with it.....

Are you spiking it with Z Bomb?

I had a case of Whamm here at found the same thing with it. Not impressed with its cleaning ability.

I use ENC, Blaze or Hotknife for most padding now.

I know. I bought your Whamm on Ebay.

Did you try to use Z Bomb as a spike.

Yes, I tried spiking it. Still didn't like the performance.

I think I've got  2-3 gallons of Zbomb kicking around here somewhere.

If you want it make me an offer.

I never liked the results of Whamm either. I have about 3/4 gallon of Zbomb that I don't know what to do with. Wonder if I could spike Hot Knife?

I've read some negative feedback regarding the scent of this encap juice. For those of you that have already purchased it, what's your opinion? Thanks.

Undiluted in the bottle it smells like a mild orange scent.  Not nearly as strong as the orange scent of Code Green if you've ever used that.  I've only got enough whamm for one more job so I'll be starting to use it soon.  If I don't like the scent I'll be sure to let you know.  Seems to smell pretty good just in the bottle though.

Sorry I misunderstood.

Suppose I'll have to get some so I can sniff the bottle!

It reminded me of Hels Gel Orange when in the undiluted bottle, just a mild citrus smell.

We used it today at 4 oz./gal, and I couldn't really smell anything as I sprayed it out, and after cleaning with it, there was just a very faint trace of citrus...almost unnoticeable....

Nothing like Z Bomb or Hot Knife...both those have very distinctive smells...

I've used this product on 2 jobs now, one trashed and one light/medium.  Both looked brand new when done: so far so good as they say.

I agree 100% with Mike about the smell.  I mixed at 8 oz a gal yesterday for the trashed job and the smell still wasn't that strong.

I'm also thus far impressed using it in a spotter bottle at the "super spotter" dilution. Didn't have use any cyclone at all yesterday, and I'm still not sure how the koolaid stain vanished... I applied RV after vacuuming, then an hour later I got to that room and pre-sprayed, at that point it still looked just like it did when I applied the RV.  After prespraying put down a pad and started cleaning the room, when I got to the koolaid stain it wasn't there any more.... what the heck??

I wiped out a red stain out of nylon yesterday using Hot Knife. The customer asked me if it would come out and I said it looked like it had dyed the fiber. Went over it and BAM! Gone! Sometimes you just suprise even yourself.

Grant, did you let it dwell? I used it on 2 jobs and I was not impressed, but I didn't let it dwell, just sprayed and cleaned. May be with some dwell time it works better?
