Intensity Red/Peroxcellent
« on: March 12, 2011, 08:59:44 AM »
Recently ordered a gal. each of Intensity Red and Peroxcellent to see how well they work. Yesterday I cleaned 1500 sq' of berber with roughly 1/2 being wool. For that I used the Perox. The urine stains on the olefin were nearly gone when I left and the wool which I cleaned last had faded by roughly 50%. I will be returning to that job tomorrow to post vac and rental turn over clean so I will see the final results. I normally use Hyrox from ex supply don't really see much of a difference between the two. As for the red I used it on an 825 sq' trashed apt. cut pile carpet. I used at 5oz per gal. as a pre-spray and 2oz per 5gal as an emulsifier in my porty. I was amazed at how easy the nasty came out. I followed up with Perox with op. Job turned out awesome! Picking up fans later today and do a post vac. A couple days ago I used the red on another nasty apt with op only and it performed very well. Great product but does have a noticeable ammonia smell but well worth it for trashed rental properties.

I like the amonia smell. Smells like citrus Windex.

Thanks for the review.  If peroxy don't have the urine stains gone for you by the time your done, just hit em with a shoot of problem b gone and walk away knowing that more than likely the stain will be gone within a few hours.  Peroxy by it's self has worked very well for me on the urine,

rare that I have to use the problem b gone, except to spray it on dis obedient customers.

I have also been using Perox and Red. I am torn between the two. I am leaning towards Red though. They both seem to work equally well in my book. I like the dilution ratio of Red better though.

It might work for you to start out with the Red in your sprayer and on the jobs when you want to use peroxy just add some to it.

I opened a bottle of Green a couple days ago and so far have been happy with it.  Pads are just coming up black.  Haven't done any side by sides or anything yet.  But hey I got 2 gallons for free so it works for me!

I have done some spiking with Perox in my Red and liked it alot.

Here is another reason why I will probably switch to Red. When using Perox in my Multisprayer, it tends to come unprimed. I think it is a excess of foam buildup. Red has no foaming at all. One of the first chems that I can remember not having a foam. I like that and so does my multisprayer.

I must confess I did hit the urine stains on the olefin with matrix bad dog when finished as a precaution since I was not flushing the urine from the carpet and pad. However the stains were effectively gone at that point. Tomorrow I will see how it worked on the wool and see if it did anything for the smell. As for adding red to perox or vise versa, it is my understanding that peroxide performs better on the acid side. Do you know if Steve recommends mixing these products together? I questioned Drew about adding punch to hydrox  but did did not recommend it. Instead he said I should use punch as a pre-treatment then follow with hydrox.  I followed his advice and noticed an improvement in cleaning. Also read something about this subject in one of the trade mags.

As a side note I just realized this pic of my 10 yr old on the vento from last March, is in the same trashed apt. I just reviewed the red on. He works cheap

Pretty much all of Steves chems are synergistic with each other.....from what I understand.

I know that Cspot uses peroxy and DA together all the time. I have read that Steve feels that IR works even better then DA so it should be a better spike. .

I did a CGD today using Red and peroxy..

I like it.

Not so much on rat nasty rental freejee poopoo caca carpet though.

I may go to Red across the board. Tired of being the best carpet cleaner on the planet...so I am gonna dumb down some.

I've been giving Peroexcellent a try as well. Seems to clean well enough. Also seems to dry slower than EG. Anyone else experiencing this?

Eric, I use it almost exclusive now and yes, it does dry longer.

By about 30 minutes or so.

I had just figured it was because I am padcapping.
