Glad Pad Durability
« on: June 01, 2011, 08:43:22 PM »
I guess I am taking a poll of sorts, what have your experiences been with the redesigned Glad Pads. How they hold up versus the older version. I am still using Glads I bought in 2009, not sure the new ones I purchased are going to go the distance.  :017:

Apparently the ones now called "econo glads" are a bit of a crap shoot, but they cost less now.  I bought 10 of them a few months back from vacaway and 20 from CCS in April right before they changed the price.  I haven't had any issues with mine and I like them so I'm not complaining.  The strings do seem a tiny bit more susceptible to running than previous batches according to some but if you use a small glider you shouldn't have any issues.

The new batch of full price glads are apparently verified "good" pads and are from a new batch.  Should be no issues at all with that batch.

You might want to call up Eric (CACB) and chat with him about that. I talked with him a few weeks ago about those pads........ :017:

Ok, give Eric a call I guess. I haven't ordered any from the new batch.  I think the new batch just came in around the first week of May.

Maybe the new batch is better...I dont know. I do know that Eric bought what he was told was a good batch and guess what. Also, talk to him about the customer service. I dont want to start flaming anyone. Be better if you got a little insight from his experience.

I was unaware there was such a thing as econo glads. I paid $16.50 each, not sure if that is an econo price. I am getting runs in the pads leading to what soon will likely be holes. I am using a Vento so I always use gliders. I am very disapointed with my purchase. Glad I only bought 5. I also bought 1 pad Vac Away sells for $11.00 each but it wont run on the Vento with the drive plate upgrade, hits the wheels. I emailed CCS but no help there. Sorry I don't know who Eric is or CACB. But I would like to talk with him if he can shed some light! Thanks for your help, I figured I couldn't be alone with this issue.

Since I just picked up my OP haven't had a chance to rate pads. Did notice Excellent Supply has changed to SuperZorb.

The batch of glads that arrived in the late winter were crap. Pads available after early May are supposedly the original. The earlier batch are being sold at a cheaper price and are the econo glads. Some are OK and some are crap. I bought 6 earlier this winter 2 were junk after the first use. I have not purchased any since. I bought some pads from Challenger instead
