Genie Vs Vac-n-boost
« on: March 21, 2009, 10:23:48 AM »
I spent a bazillion bucks on new chemicals recently. As well as 20 new glad pads (total 30 now)

my 'plan' is to get one of those carpet samples seen at Lowes or HD and put down some grime. :)

and go to town.

I will record my results via video and photo.

I have gone through the gallon of Spot-N-Boost that we ordered last month. The Green Genie stuff is good at removing some stains like "poof", and then others, not so good, while the SNB seems to be good at getting out what Genie doesn't.

We'll keep both, in addition to our van full of other stuff.

Did a home that had off-white Berber with lots of dog poop stains on it from the 2 little doggies. UR Out didn't seem to budge it, but they disappered when we hit them with the SNB. Didn't even get a chance to scrub yet. I love it when the spot disappears as soon as you spray the chem on it.

We liked the finished appearance, too. The Lady liked it too. So much so, that she signed up for regular 3 cleanings a year.

Yeah...but....are you going to get a nylon or olifin or poly? Details man....Details!!

Seriously, I will be curious to your findings. As for Spot-N-Boost, I like it but hate the smell. I like Cyclone HWE better.

Spot in boost works very well , but I agree with Chem the smell is overpowering. I put a 2 oz boost in a 3gallon batch of Encap green to clean a real dirty empty home, and It still had an over powering smell. But it cleaned so well I almost cried tiers of joy.  :'(

Look forward to your test results Phil

I like both the smell of cyclone and spot n boost, they both smell great, clients like it too.

Been using Encap Green and Spot n Boost all month, that's all i use now, and some red vanish here and there.  Hardly take anything else out of the van.

I agree with Mike C. on the Genie's. I've had a few stains go "poof" and vanish as soon as it touched them.  Others it doesn't do a thing to.  I have a gallon of spot n boost but have only dabbed it on a few spots so far. Didn't notice a difference between cyclone.  I might save the spot n boost for summer rental cleaning season when I don't have time to crawl around spotting and they're all empty.

I put 2-3 oz per gallon into encap green after i inspect the carpets.  Still keep a 50/50 mix spotter of snb with me, that's all i use now.  Keep it simple, it works for us.

Haven't been to impressed with SNB so far. My woman ran out of nail polish remover and it worked great for here. It does have a strong scent to it.
