This is it...
« on: February 09, 2012, 11:05:01 PM »
After lurking on this board, off and on, for close to 2 years... I've decided that I'm ready to take the plunge! (Mike, you should charge a modest amount for the fantastic wealth of information available on the site!)  I'm ready to contact Clark at Orbitec in about a week, to order my Defender for a LM-OP/HWE CC business. I've decided that this is the way to go for resi and if I want to dabble in commercial... I can do it with this one. Looked at the Challenger... I love it, but I like the Orbitec a little more (thanks to the forum). This is my start-up, got my business creds lined up and can't wait to get ahold of my Vacaway products and talk to the folks at Excellent to get my first case of Release-It! This is part-time, that I hope to go full time,in due time. LOL. ...with great customer service and eventually adding-on a T&G, Mattress Sani, UPH and more business from here. I'm so stoked and though ya'll don't know me, I can't thank you guys & gals enough for making this a class-act site and relating so much. I will learn from trial and error, but I have the confidence, to hopefully, kick the dead-end job, thnx to YOU.  ^_^

Nope, not me. I've posted here a couple of times, just to break the ice, that's it though. I found this forum, after looking at other's, to be really helpful. I  tried to get profiled out as much as possible, so every one's aware, that's all.

The business has its ups and downs, but what doesnt! right :)
I truly LOVE what I do and cant imagine doing anything else.

Yeah, that one really bothered me. But OK, he was a TM Oper., which is cool, I just remember moving in here a year and a half ago and I,you hear me, I,  have made the carpet look way better that it ever was at that time. I used to be in car sales, in fact I sold cars for about 5 years, so I have a little grasp, I think, on maybe stating things a little different. Truth is, I hated it for half of my "time". Being a car salesman is not all that bad, the money is ok... very good for those that have the gift of gab and lessen their conscience... slightly, but I got along in it cause I'm just a good employee... but I get bored easy... so now... I maybe have found a passion.  :coolsmiley:

I think your machine and chem choices are a good way to start your business.

The sales skills should come in handy too.

lego,  back in the mid '80's, i lived on volusia dr off of cypress gardens blvd, between alachua dr and escambia dr. that SE section of winter haven is (used to be anyway) a kick **** area to market in. and now that the entire area is so developed, i can imagine it being even better, despite the economy crapola! there is some "big" money down that area, and they loved my combo cleanings of HWE and bonnett. tile and grout was good too but, and trust me on this......
go after the 55 and over mobile home parks!!! once they know you, you'll never be without work

Micky, what a small world, I literally live right down the street in Garden Grove. I agree about the park market, there are sooo many here, but your suggestion just confirms what I was thinking. Alot of these places are immaculate and the people take great care of their appearance. I really hope that it works out like we think. Not sure about the space in these places, I wonder if an Oreck Lowboy wouldn't be perfect for such smal, tight places, of course a porty would be perfect I think. But anyway, hey thanks for the info, seems like a target I can shoot for to start out with as I'm part-time for a while.

yeah lego, small world is right!  my kids went to garden grove elementary back then.

if ya'll dont mind crackin a sweat, dont rule out getting yerself a decent pressure washer either, and washing the mobile homes. i had great success with that as an add on after cleaning carpets and doing air duct cleaning!

Pressure wahing... That's a good idea. I do see a few of them around, but those are stand-alone Type operations. I think you're right, my access to the customer gives me a advantage to this as an add-on. LOL, my problem right now is just which add-ons should I offer first and of course having the equipment and training is important "DOH! I "think" there is market for most all of the ones discussed on the board. I should know more details of my market though. I'm lacking there.

Just got my logo back, very stoked. Since I'm still in the "Break the Ice" section, I'd figure that I'd post it, see what ya'll think. Very reasonable price to have it done. Very. I would highly reccommend this service for everyone.
